Optic Spasm

frontside tailslide

Holiday season is here, Christmas/ New Year/ Student vacation. blablablablabla. You probably get the whole picture and wouldn't care less for what is written. Anyway, we ,manage to do a little skating this week without being distracted by how well town a.k.a orchard road, is decorated in. The constant waves of fellow human and vehicles, drowning enlightened individuals in stink and sweats. But without all of these little details, the atmosphere of a holiday season won't exist. It will simply be, just like any other night.

Back to bitz-ness.

Montage 0.1

We've been scouting for talents and skilled individuals around the island. Even though this is a mere blog, this will be a channel for selective individuals. Never stop figuring out ways to improve themselves, hopefully upgrade and overpopulate this country and finally region to form a skateboarding society.

Enjoy the clip.
Its just a clip, don't expect too much.

Interpretation

Fajar Siddiq, a local artist/designer/Euphorya Label and our old friend attempt to express his creativity into singapore's skateboarding culture.

Rail spot

Its been a while that we gave Toa Payoh a visit. There's several good skatepots scattered around this neighbourhood. The heartland skateboarders residing there should know pretty well. Hidden neatly within this peaceful estate, lies an 8 stair rail. those kinds where you often see in american skate videos. It's a one of a kind, thats for sure as rails in singapore are pretty much chest high.

So anyway, rail killers for today: Hisyam & Nazzer.

The sky

If air could be walk on, moments made under anti gravity motion will be nothing but ordinary. We would have figured out unlimited ways to surf the wind. Grace and effort, the beauty, drain away from its high value entity. It will no longer be exclusive to the skilled and the brave. These elites will stand shoulder to shoulder with the norms as the art withers in depths of gray.

It's not easy to ride the sky. Not at all.

Cam collection+Skateboarding+Free time

Cam Guy: Arman Jack Black.
He send us a clip that he made a few mins ago. Something for kicks.

"you like that fatboy?"
hahaha!

Case of the Bin.

Camera with human legs.

Skate Wednesdays are pretty much time chasing since they are sandwiched between Tuesday and Thursday. Skating will be the last thing on our minds since we used much of our brain power and energy spent at work or in school.

Stop whining like a beyoitch on a full week PMS-ing spree.
2 hours of concrete wave and spastic star jumps is way better than none. This is what we got within that time limit.

50-50 front shove on accending grill

Often I hear complaints such as;
"Dude, there's no more perfect curbs anywhere!"
"You can't skate shit when there's nothing around dawg!"
"Soo far! Lazy aaah!"
"Skatepark is infested with 'pros' "

Firstly, no one says "dawg" in a conversation if you're Singaporean.
Next, quit skating if you continue complaining.

Woodlands surprisingly has too many barren multipurpose/basketball court.
One question, Why so many courts?
So Fad and I decided to get a used rail that we found at the side, some bricks, and our cam equipments.

Hafiz: bs smith bs 180

Sometimes I don't know if I should say "I" or write myself in third person.
Calling yourself in third is too weird.

So anyway,
We decided to raise the stake a little higher.

If you skate, we need YOUR help

Here is the deal yo!
Our friends Barry and Gary are kind enough to help us out to host our file on their server.
Kabillion thanks to you guys.

Alright alright, this is the main part.
If you call yourself a SKATEBOARDER aka "skaters" (hahaha...skaters sounds seriously stupid).
WE NEED YOUR HELP.

We have set up a questionnaire. This set of questions will help us out in understanding your thoughts and perception as a skateboarder in Singapore. I hope you can play a major role by answering these few questions. I swear they won't take long.

1) Download the questionnaire
HERE.
2) Save the document on your folder (its not a freaking virus)
3) Answer the questions available
4) Submit to our email skateryiots@gmail.com

5) This is the most important
Tell 6 skateboarders you personally know and convince them to fill it up
Remember! 6 SKATEBOARDERS!

We will be grateful if you could help us out here.

the Begining

Gloomy Thursday evening welcome us as we march our way across the border into the northern coast, Malaysia. 15 minutes Yishun bus ride, 30 minutes Woodlands Checkpoint to checkpoint and a final, 7hrs Johore KTM train ride. Reality seems to fade; lights and sounds grew quieter and much dimmer as we draw ourselves closer to our skateboarding destination, Kuala Lumpur.
Time check: 12:03am
Where the fuck is the train?

Never thought Singapore could be this pretty on a rainy day

Stares to glass filled thoughts

Now now, before we proceed to the ruin looking train station, the boys were famished. Hungry enough to turn into PMS-ing bunch of girls (don't take it to heart ladies, you know we "love" you). We Singaporeans are one lucky bunch of asses to have Malaysia as neighbouring country, one reason is that our exchange currency is almost twice to theirs. Which means twice the fun and spending power. Give power to boys like us, all hell breaks loose. Figuratively speaking of course.

All the railway stations in Malaysia, Tanjong pagar and the ones in Thailand are owned by the Malaysian Government. Bet you don't know that riight.

7 hour train ride. It's an awesome adventure even though your space is limited to a straight line with interlinked carrages. We encounter assorted people of different nationalities, races, weird anthics and jobs on different timeframe as they voluntarily share verbally pieces of their life story or moments to us. We truely enjoy their effort.

They couldn't resist us or us couldn't resist them. Who to say?
