Quiet nights

Have you noticed that from the streets of Orchard road to the dim lit ends of Cityhall has been really quiet in weekends lately? What happened to the noisy sea blue cabs that organize themselves in a line? The driver would patiently wait or roam in nearby avenues scouting for stranded potential passengers that might think public transport is a pain after midnight. What happened to the curious tourists and romantic couples exploring the city and absorbing each other’s faces into the cold city breeze? What happened to exciting illegal races by flashy Japanese cars and their professional wannabe drivers, roaring their engines and diverting all the attention to them?

Where did that entire crowd go by 1am?

Even if it’s good for the skating as chances of complaints being flown through the police airwaves are minimal, these simple things mentioned on the lines above are the ones that we all enjoy observing, commenting , stare blankly and giving a standing ovation for each fine lady that walk pass us in between a long hard night of skating.

Please come back to us.

My Closest Enemy

You mimic my every move
Mouth the same words as I do
Could you remember every mistake too?
I'm not afraid of you
You stretch, you fade
You bend into shapes that I hate
Are you reflecting back at me?
Suggesting how I'm supposed to be
Each time I walk into the light
You come around for one last fight
A never ending love hate momentum
A continuous hard swinging pendulum
I can't seem to cut you away
You slide fittingly on me like skin
Leaving my pores no room for breathing
I will prevent you coming in too deep
But remain connected to my feet
After something like that
I wouldn't simply forget
Not just like that

Imagination

If someone is lack of imagination, creative influences and innovation, there will be dire consequences. Humans are known to be a species which can think and allow themselves to create, recreate and adapt to situations of various conditions out of nothing as skill sets develop naturally based on survival instincts.

So would you consider yourself as a human if you lack of intellect and creativity to create your own form of production, even when you are densely equipped or with barren palms?

I would probably flip myself inside out; maybe frame me up for a group of white coated psychiatrist standing at the back of the room, whispering amongst themselves as they make an attempt to analyze me for being in such a state.

For the zombies who roam this planet, you will definitely be left out of space and time as your mind can no longer breathe the unlimited possibility that creativity can satisfy your choking lungs. Simultaneously your hearts will rupture as it doesn’t long for any form of achievements.

It is simply because, you can’t create without imagination.

Make room to breathe, it's harder if you try and worse if you follow. Have some pride in your work as they are, one of your creations.

AMK yo!

One Saturday afternoon, people would make a move to town and
bask themselves on the sunny & noise polluted streets of Orchard Road with a grande Mocha Frap in hand(I'm just making assumptions). We on the other hand went hunting for manual pads in Ang Mo Kio. AMK yo! And found a slightly secluded spot which has some puddles running at its sides. All of us wiped it away and made it pretty again.
This video is called, "A little manual love" by Hafiz. Enjoy :)

Pretty Place

Seriously, Hafiz has totally no talent in guitar playing.
Each time we jam, he tends to get his fingerings all wrong.
That doesn't prevent his rockstar alter ego from his frequent
air guitar sessions whenever we skate.

Even photographers take a time off from duties.
Kicking his board away during his limited breaks,
the board hovers slowly in mid air between the ground and the surface of his feet
Maybe this is why fad love his kickflips so much.
Right now, all eyes are on him.

Fach got the urge to skate rails that night.
I think he forgot that he has a job to go to the next day.
Still, he persisted on putting his body and feet on the line
All for the satisfaction of landing this Bs 5-0 grind.
He was scared shit for this sweet shot.

The most basic trick in skateboarding: the ollie
You can practically do them anywhere you want.
Its easy, highly reliable and always fun just like fast food

We have tabulated the scores for skateboarding in Yishun
and came up with this demographic:

Trick Tips: How to wait

What can you do while waiting for your turn to skate the same obstacle?

Suggestion 1:
You can place your tail on one of your foot like so.
This position shows that you are confident while you wait
due to no contact between your hands and your board

Suggestion 2:
You can simply stand still and pay attention to your friend
that is executing his trick. Make sure your facial expression reacts
accordingly and bare in mind not to do the same trick as your friend
just did. He might think that you are trying to burn him or something.

Suggestion 3:
Pretend that you're an Olympic athlete on the starting line
instead when your turn is about begin

The Secret:
When you're done with your trick, make sure
express joy or frustration on the way back in line
So that people will understand the magnitude of your
success or failure.

Theres no rules in skateboarding
I'm just bullshitting you.

Sometimes

Skateboarding is perceived as pain to the eyes, ears and mouths of those who never gotten on a board before. The constant flow of noise, damaging public property (apparently wood is the hardest compound on earth), over time we can even figure out that the same person made the same complaints to the cops each time visiting a particular site. It gets old after a while. Except for little kids of course. They get fascinated every time you get on the board or when a ghost miraculously decide to ride for a split second. Kids really know how to have fun. Maybe they can see the same way we do.

Yishun session

The boys and I went on a mission to infiltrate our long skateboarding abandoned hometown of Yishun. It was really refreshing to be able to visit some of the old skate spots that we all used to skate together on a daily dose back when we were younger. Some of the old spots moved on while new ones were born upon discovery. The whole vibe from the estate bring us back to our teenage angst phase. We spent the day exchanging old memories; cop chasing/looting/girl issues and of course, our love for skateboarding.
To many of us, Yishun is where the heart of skateboarding resides.

The Secret Garden

Our first objective, The Clocktower, visit was completed. Next was this amazing park in between HDB flats. The place looked like well maintained ruins from the Greek era installed with "C" shaped grindable curbs and a mean set of stairs. Hence, it's named Rome. The ground was pretty vicious on the deck due to the sandy imprints. But hey, we got the sun, shade, boards and greenery to absorb in.

Its not all perfect and easy as it may seem. Hafizul Hisyam did the moster treflip on a couple of tries.
He collected all his guts and balls just to get this down for you guys out there. As soldiers in the battlefield, injuries and wounds are normal. Show some appreciation for this guy.
